MY STORY
A Natural Music Teacher
I have been teaching individuals and coaching ensembles for nearly a decade. In 2014 I obtained both a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Music Performance from the Western Michigan University. I can help you or your child get started on Piano and Guitar. I offer beginner to advanced lessons on Electric or Upright Bass. I can offer 30, 45 or 60 minute lessons. I love sharing the joy of music most of all! I believe music is one of life's greatest gifts. Music lessons have proven to help children with nearly every metric of academic achievement: SAT scores, high school GPA, reading comprehension, and math skills etc. I believe music lessons enhance many areas of life for both young and old. I be I am happy that I made a lifelong commitment to teaching others the joy and wonder that music can bring!
Andrew is an excellent teacher! I came in with virtually no experience playing bass at all; within 10 weeks I had not only improved my technique considerably, playing much more on-time and confidently, but also had learned the basics of music theory which is of great interest to me. I was Andrew Rose’s pupil in a sometimes fraught effort to resurrect my bass playing skills. I would recommend him as a bass instructor, upright, electric, 4 or 5 string, whatever. For 6 months he dutifully took me through major pentatonic, Dorian Lydian Aeolian, and the key changes to Miles Davis “So What”. He also taught finger positions helping me try to break many habits.
